Anti-Gay Organization Exploits Families Who Lost Loved Ones to AIDS

This video is one of the most disturbing examples of anti-gay organizations exploiting families who have lost loved ones to AIDS.

Karl and Judy Schowengerdt blame their son’s co-worker for recruiting him into the “gay lifestyle” – a decision they believe ultimately led to him dying of AIDS. The couple claims their son’s entire life went downhill after he was recruited into the “gay lifestyle.” You can read a guest column supposedly written by Karl Schowengerdt using an IFPC email address.

The Iowa Family Policy Center (IFPC), an anti-gay marriage organization, is using this video to scare the hell out of other anti-gay people. They’re also using this video to encourage Iowa clergy and judges to refuse to perform gay marriage ceremonies, claiming gay marriage will ruin heterosexual familes.

Early this week, Iowa became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage.
