Anti-Gay Organization Exploits Families Who Lost Loved Ones to AIDS
Filed Under Religion, WTF? | Leave a Comment
This video is one of the most disturbing examples of anti-gay organizations exploiting families who have lost loved ones to AIDS.
Karl and Judy Schowengerdt blame their son’s co-worker for recruiting him into the “gay lifestyle” – a decision they believe ultimately led to him dying of AIDS. The couple claims their son’s entire life went downhill after he was recruited into the “gay lifestyle.” You can read a guest column supposedly written by Karl Schowengerdt using an IFPC email address.
The Iowa Family Policy Center (IFPC), an anti-gay marriage organization, is using this video to scare the hell out of other anti-gay people. They’re also using this video to encourage Iowa clergy and judges to refuse to perform gay marriage ceremonies, claiming gay marriage will ruin heterosexual familes.
Early this week, Iowa became the fourth state to legalize same-sex marriage.

‘Women’s Movement’ eWomen.net Advertises on Anti-Gay Web Site
Filed Under Religion, WTF?, Women's Issues | Leave a Comment
While spying on the anti-gay organization AFA, I saw the following ad for eWomen.net. This organization looks like the newest breed of Stepford Wives – complete with a few colored gals gracing their web site’s main page.
eWomen.net describes their movement as America’s new explosive women’s movement. It looks more like a push to convince women to be cowards who don’t stand up for themselves. The Sin of Being Offended section reads:
From a spiritual perspective, the truth of the matter is that as believers we have no right to take offense at what others do or say to us. When someone tells me of the damaging words or actions of another, I like to encourage them with the life of Christ. He is, after all, our model. If you search scripture you will find that Christ never took offense for what others did to him. He was only angry at others’ actions when they offended the Father. His focus (just like ours should be) was on God and his instruction. Christ did not focus on the violence or angry words that were cast upon him. Instead he prayed for those who attacked him. If we, as believers, can turn our focus upward instead of inward, we can be free from the slings and arrows of mean people. There is a unique kind of freedom that comes with deciding not to allow the hurtful words and mean actions of others to control us.
Oh yeah, that’s the first step in an extensive course on “How to Beat Your Wife and Get Away With It.” Just hand her the article that tells her being offended is a sin and you can beat her ass all day long everyday without one word of protest.
I guess the newest wave of feminism(?) doesn’t care much for homosexuals since its organizers are advertising on a religious web site that’s obsessed with promoting hateful rhetoric about homosexuals. I’m kinda surprised Carrie Prejean isn’t their spokeswoman.
Sidenote: Someone ought to tell Prejean that vanity is a sin. Her surgically enhanced tits won’t impress Jesus.

Who Wants to Bet Gays Will Push for Openly Gay Supreme Court Justice?
Filed Under LGBT, Politics, Race, Religion | 2 Comments
I was in bed by the time I saw a text regarding last night’s breaking news that Supreme Court justice David Souter is retiring. I couldn’t even muster up the energy to tweet about it – like these people.
The nation’s first Black president will get an opportunity to appoint a new Supreme Court justice. Hot damn!
But before any of you pop the cork on that special bottle of wine you’ve been saving for just this occassion, remember this: Souter, appointed by the first Republican Bush, is part of the court’s liberal wing. Anyone Obama appoints won’t drastically swing the court in one direction or another – unless Obama decides to surprise us all and do exactly the opposite of what we expect of him by appointing a conservative judge. It’s possible, right?
Which interest group do you think will make the most noise about Obama’s Supreme Court choice? Religious right-wing nutcases or one of the many gay groups that claim to represent the best interest of the LGBTQ community? Maybe one of the many women’s groups out there will rally for another female (preferably Black or Hispanic) on the high court. I’m guessing we’ll hear the most frequent and the loudest noise from the gays – especially after the whole Warren fiasco. Obama owes us one, right?
A disabled, half Black/half Hispanic, gay, conservative female appointee might just make everyone happy. Anybody know where we can find one?
Update: Told ya so. Read more here, too.
