Walgreens Pulls Obama Chia Head

I want one of these!

Walgreens has pulled a Barack Obama version of the Chia Pet from its stores, and the decision leaves about 200,000 of the pottery plant kits in a West Side Chicago warehouse.

The Deerfield-headquartered drugstore chain made the move Friday after getting a few complaints about the item since the product’s April 1 launch, a spokeswoman said.

The article doesn’t state any specific complaints. I’d love to know what the problem was.

    this is simply not fair! my cats love the stuff, and what better way for them to get their nutrition than right out of a bunch of greens which are growing out of a bunch of bullshit!

    I actually find this Obama memento kind of cute. It’s one of the least offensive Obama items I’ve seen for sale.

    actually, I’d have been loathe to have anything that remotely looked like or resembled that Fetal Alcoholic Syndrome (FAS) one case for legalized RETROACTIVE abortion, and I’m sure my male cats would have pissed on it had it been there, for sure! I think in this case, way too many people find this Chia head somewhat ‘repugnant’ and I simply think that jerking these from the store shelves was pretty assinine and stupid.

    as for the politics, any of the two parties in this country, irregardless of which side of the aisle, is full of BULLSHIT, and this new master wizzard we now have in the highest office of the land, certainly seems a whole lot like the last occupant who illegally squatted at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for 8 tortuous, ruinous years.

    my cats would have liked the new version b.s. sprouter, however!

    p.s.: animals are wonderful judges of character, and one of my cats actually used to ‘growl’ and get really perturbed if I let Bush stay on the television more than a few seconds at a time. my spouse and I were absolutely amazed at how upset this one eye’d tabby cat got when he had to see Bush on the T.V.

    needless to say, most animals I think react to INTRINSIC EVIL that way, don’t you think?

    I find it ironic that the Obama camp had a billboard ad pulled in Times Square that showed our leader sporting a certain brand of trench coat (they said he did not want to be identified with any particular brand…), and yet I received an Obama Chia head for Christmas! Can't we all get on the same page about how we want to market this guy? Or, is it really befitting the President of the United States to be marketed at all? I mean, a Presidential Chia Head? WTF?
